Trek Lightweight, the Fjällräven Way
The Swedish outdoor brand expands its lightweight offering for Spring/Summer 2026

Fjällräven, lightness has never been just about reducing weight. It is about moving through nature with presence, balance and purpose – choosing materials and technologies that support the journey rather than distract from it. Lightweight, in this sense, is not a trend, but a principle that has shaped the brand since the very beginning.

That philosophy dates back to 1960, when founder Åke Nordin introduced Fjällräven’s very first product: the LÄTT backpack. Designed to be lighter without compromising on durability or function, it set the tone for a brand built on thoughtful design and long-term performance. More than six decades on, that same mindset continues to guide Fjällräven’s approach to trekking equipment and apparel.

In Spring/Summer 2026, Fjällräven expands its lightweight offering with the award-winning Kajka X-Lätt backpack – a streamlined evolution of the iconic Kajka. Combining a reduced weight with robust construction and modular functionality, it reflects the brand’s belief that lighter gear should still be built to last.

Arriving in June, Keb Lätt introduces an all-new lightweight clothing collection designed for trekkers looking to reduce the overall weight of their kit. Clean in design and purposeful in construction, the collection delivers essential protection, breathability and freedom of movement, supporting long days on the trail without unnecessary bulk.

Together, Kajka X-Lätt and Keb Lätt underline Fjällräven’s long-standing commitment to lightweight trekking — not as an exercise in minimalism, but as a way to move more naturally, comfortably and confidently through the outdoors.

“Fjällräven has always been known for building products that last. Trusted, hard-wearing pieces designed for real time outdoors,” said Richard Smith, Marketing Manager at Fjällräven.

“With our latest trekking collection, we’re taking that same philosophy into a lighter, more progressive direction. It’s about maintaining our DNA of durability and function, while giving people apparel that feels effortless to move in, carry, and wear across long days on the trail.”
