Beeline, creators of the award-winning Velo 2 cycling navigation device, has been named as the official navigation partner of Bikeability’s comprehensive set of new bike bus resources launching nationwide for Cycle to School Week (13–17 October 2025).

Cycle to School Week encourages students across the UK to choose cycling as a fun, healthy, and environmentally friendly way to get to school.

Bike buses help more children enjoy cycling to school in a fun, safe, and social way. Much like a walking bus, the bike bus follows a set route with designated “bus stops” along the way, where children and families can join the ride together. Communities nationally will benefit from good practice guidance and support from Beeline and The bike bus. Bikeability Trust when setting up a local bike bus.

To support bike bus leaders, Beeline will provide its easy-to-use Velo 2 devices, making it simple to plan, adapt, and navigate routes while keeping phones safely tucked away. With features like smart routing, GPX import, and integration with Komoot and Strava, Velo 2 is the perfect companion for community-led rides.

“We’re excited to support Bikeability in inspiring the next generation of cyclists. The bike bus is a brilliant initiative that makes cycling to school both safe and fun, and with Velo 2 we’re helping leaders feel confident in planning and navigating their routes,” said Mark Jenner, Co-Founder of Beeline.

“Bikeability is committed to giving children the skills and confidence to cycle more often. Thanks to the Beeline, bike bus leaders can focus on what matters most: making the school run a joyful and active start to the day,” said Emily Cherry, CEO of The Bikeability Trust.

As part of the launch, Beeline is giving away a limited number of free Velo 2 devices to bike bus leaders across the UK.
