Earlier this month, Brandwave invited a group of guests to go wild – quite literally – in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales on behalf of Vango. Partnering with CampWild, the UK’s leading wild camping community, the overnight retreat offered a rare opportunity to properly disconnect and experience the outdoors in one of its rawest, most beautiful forms.

Guests arrived at the picturesque basecamp to find their tents already pitched — each one kitted out with a thoughtful selection of gifts, including sleeping bags, mats, head torches, and water bottles, all carefully chosen by Vango, along with a pair of Merrell shoes perfect for the rolling hills, setting the tone for the next 24 hours ahead. After a round of welcome nibbles and a fresh tasty lunch from camp chefs, Thom and Stuart from Off the Beaten Pot, and plenty of friendly introductions, the group set off on a guided hike led by Outdoor License editor Neil Summers. The route delivered magic moments at every turn, with many happy faces spotted. Along the way, guests cooled off in 18 amazing waterfalls, shared like-minded stories, and bonded over breathtaking views across the fells.

Back at camp, it was straight to the river for a refreshing dip, just steps from the tents. As the sun slipped behind the hills, Thom and Stuart worked their magic over the fire, serving up a superb evening meal. With beers, wine, and plenty of non-alcoholic options on hand, everyone gathered to share stories, toast marshmallows, swap layers, and soak up the easy camaraderie. A surprise birthday moment for Chris from Vango added to the joy, Thom had baked a cake, the group broke into song, and slices were passed around the fire. Later, some guests drifted off to their tents, while others embraced the night fully, falling asleep in their Vango sleeping bags under a blanket of stars.

The next morning unfolded gently, with a soulful yoga session in the heart of the wilderness led by the local yoga guru, Stride & Edge. It offered everyone a chance to reflect and breathe deeply after yesterday’s hike. Post yoga the group wandered back from the meadow and headed to the hidden pop-up sauna by PortaSauna, nestled beside a shimmering waterfall. Guests plunged into the cool waters, then warmed themselves by the crackling sauna coals before packing up their bags and heading back home – 24 hours immersed in nature, filled with amazing memories and new friendships.

A huge thanks to everyone who joined us Into The Wild, for your energy and your willingness to lean into a bit of adventure.

Thanks to our many partners, with whom this wouldn’t have been possible, including CampWild, Off the Beaton Pot, Merrell, Lucky Saint, Lakes Brew Co, Lowtide Coffee, Nuasan, The Uncommon and Solar Sport. We set out to create a moment of stillness, connection and escape and thanks to everyone involved, we did just that.
